Shaheen started as a small neighbourhood grocer with one goal: give Calgary's Afghan, Persian and South Asian community a place that feels like home. The storefront is unassuming — but step inside and you'll find shelves packed floor to ceiling with the specialty goods our customers grew up with, a bakery turning out fresh naan all day long, and a meat counter that treats every cut with care.

People regularly drive in from well outside the city just to stock up. We're working every day to make sure the welcome inside matches the quality on our shelves.
